Learning German grammar may seem difficult since it sounds really different from the language that we got used to. You don’t have to worry that much because learning this will be a gradual process.

This is actually the best way to learn German because you will be taught one on one by someone you know. Since you are already comfortable with this person, you will have no hesitations to ask for any clarifications regarding German grammar or pronunciation. If your friend is a pure German and knows little English, then maybe the learning could work both ways. Him teaching you German, while you teach him English. That’s hitting two birds with one stone.
Another way to learn is enrolling yourself in a class that teaches German. This could also work better for some people as well. Since there are a lot of people learning with you, you could probably have a lot more fun understanding German while you’re at it. Whichever way works for you, go for it.
